Our Whānau Ora Kaiārahi (navigators) create a long-term Whānau Ora Plan together with whānau who need guidance, advocacy, and support. The plan identifies ways to achieve your goals.

Whānau Ora provides guidance and advocacy for whānau who need support on the following:

  • WINZ and IRD entitlements
  • Mental health support
  • Trauma counselling
  • Addiction counselling
  • Education and employment
  • Health and GP enrolments
  • Parenting
  • Improving home health
  • Rongoā Māori
  • Reconnecitng with whānau

How We Support You

Our kaiārahi (navigators) work with whānau to achieve their goals through positive outcomes. We focus on:
  • Mātātaki: Whānau Ora is for the people, whānau and hapori. It is a culturally-grounded, holistic approach to improving the wellbeing of whānau as a whole and addressing the individual need within the context of whānau.
  • Ngā Hua: Our kaiārahi will support whānau to reach identified goals through positive outcomes.
  • Tūmanakohanga: To reach your goals, we'll work with you to get the support you need to succeed, and advocate for you when you feel you aren't heard.
  • Mana Motuhake: We prioritise giving whānau tools for your own self-management, independence, and autonomy.
  • Tūhono: We acknowledge the traditional connections from the living to the past. Whanaungatanga is a priorty for our kaiārahi to understand who you are and what is important to you and your whānau.
  • Ngākau Māori: The beating heart that drives the decisions we make as people. Whānau Ora is by Māori for Māori.

How to Access the Service

Whānau can access this service through referrals from GPs, registered nurses, community agencies, whānau members, or by referring themselves.

This service is available Monday–Friday, 8.00 am–4.30 pm
